In the fast-paced bluffing game “Spicy”, it’s easy to get your fingers burned. Players take turns to play face-down wasabi, chilli and pepper cards with increasing levels of heat. You can’t always find the right spice in your hand, so you might have to slip some unwanted ingredients into the pot. If your opponents get suspicious they can insist on making a taste test but they have to specify the exact culinary offence: was the card you just played the wrong type of spice or was the heat level incorrect? Making an accusation can be rewarding but also risky: if the suspected card was actually correct, the points go to the player who was wrongly accused. But if the cheat is successfully revealed, it’s the accuser who can celebrate. This is a bluffing dish with real spice!
