Newspaper, magnifying glass, roller skate, fried egg, computer. Surely it’s possible to remember this small number of objects… or so you would think. But while the fried egg card is always passed clockwise around the table – face-down of course – the roller skate goes in the other direction. Whenever you receive a new gift, you need to pass on your old stuff and be able to correctly identify it, even though you’re not allowed to look at the picture again. So, umm, what was it again? Maybe the computer? Even players with a good memory will come unstuck amidst all the back-and-forth action. In an emergency, just announce any old thing with all the confidence you can muster. As long as the gift receiver believes you, then everything’s fine. Until you get the card back again that is. If you’re wrong three times – either claiming or guessing – this entertaining memory game will come to an end.
